Frequently asked questions
Can I leave them longer than my natural nail?
No. Each strip needs your natural nail underneath it for support. File the tip flush with your free edge and the set stays flat and lasts. Leave it overhanging and it will catch on things and lift within a day or two.
Will they damage my nails?
Applying a set involves no drilling, no acid primer and no buffing of the nail plate, and our gel is HEMA-free and 14-free.
Most of the damage people associate with gel comes from removal. Take the set off gently with remover and oil, and never pick or peel it off.
How long do they last?
Up to 3 weeks. How close you get to that depends almost entirely on prep: a clean, dry, oil-free nail plate with the cuticle pushed back properly is the single biggest factor.
Are they suitable for wide nail beds?
Yes. Every design gently stretches to fit wider nail beds, and secures into place once cured. File back anything that overhangs at the tip.
How long does it take to apply?
Around 10 to 20 minutes for a full set, including filing and curing. Your first set takes a little longer than the ones after it.
Can I wear cuticle oil?
Yes, but after application and not before. Oil is exactly what stops gel from bonding, so the nail must be clean and oil-free when you apply the strip.
Once the set is cured, daily cuticle oil keeps the surrounding skin healthy and helps the edges stay sealed.
Suitable for beach holidays?
Yes. Once cured, the gel is fully hardened and water resistant. Sea water, chlorine and sun cream are all fine. Rinse and dry your hands after swimming and the set will hold.
Can I reuse them?
No. Each set is single use. The gel cures permanently onto your nail, so once it has been removed it cannot be reapplied.
Can I wear them in the bath?
Yes. Water does not affect a cured gel set. Very long, very hot soaks soften the skin around the nail and can loosen the edges, so dry your hands properly afterwards.
Do I need to learn a skill to apply the gel wraps?
No. Push your cuticles back, pick the size closest to each nail, smooth the strip on from the base, file off the excess at the tip, then cure under the lamp.
Can I use these on my toes?
Use our pedicure sets for toes. They are shaped and sized for toenails, whereas the hand strips are cut for fingers and will not sit correctly on a big toe. You can pick pedicure designs in your kit from the Pedicure tab.
How long does shipping take?

What should I do if my order says delivered but I didn't receive it?
Check with anyone else at your address and look in the usual safe spots, then ask your neighbours. Carriers sometimes mark a parcel delivered a day before it actually arrives, so give it 24 hours.
If it still has not turned up, email us at [TO COMPLETE: support email] with your order number and we will open a claim with the carrier.
What should I do if my tracking hasn't updated?
Tracking often sits still for a couple of days while a parcel moves between hubs, especially over a weekend. That is normal and the parcel is usually still on its way.
